Our end-table lamps and floor lamps are some distance from the wall and we use grounded power-strips to manage the various plugs. These cable protectors provide protection against tripping, and help us keep the various wires out of sight (we bought some nylon ties to secure the little bundles of wire from the lamps). We have wooden floors. Only quibble is that the heavy grounded wire to the power strip is a bit too large for the space in the cable protector. Still, we expect to get full use out of them for years to come.

We got this for our power reclining couch that is in the middle of the living room and isn't near any outlets. It works well for covering the power cable to the couch however we needed to get some double sided tape to have the cover lie fully flat on the ground and avoid shifting across the floor. Some mid-grade adhesive to this would be a perfect enhancement to this product

I had bought this because we have a cord coming from our couch, and it was annoying to walk around and accidentally step on. Plus, my parents were coming to visit, and I didn’t want them to trip over it. I didn’t have any trouble with it not laying flat as some other reviewers seemed to. I put it over the cord on the floor and it pretty much stayed flat.
I was skeptical at first because it didn’t have the built-in adhesive on the underside that similar products do, but it really doesn’t cause an issue that it’s not stuck down to the floor, and it lets me change out the cord or surge protector easily. I also thought an adhesive might damage my floor, but I don’t have to worry about that with this.
I purchased the 6-ft length so I didn’t have to cut it to size; it works very well for our space.
Lastly, my hometown is Lexington, KY, so I wanted to support a KY product (if it worked). I’m proud to say this was a good purchase.

They definitely help keep wires from going wild. I'd only recommend that they make a heavier version... I'm still the type with a lot of wires.
That said, if you have a modest amount of wiring, these are perfect!!
