I have 100 feet of cord I use for my business and this was a little cheaper than a similar item you can buy at Wally World. Like many other reviewers state there was a little piece of plastic that needs to be filed or clipped off. Took care of it with some toe nail clippers and it spins like a dream now. The only things not great about this is that if you have 100 ft. of really thick cord, you might want to get something a smidge bigger. When I'm done winding my 100 footer, it barely fits on the spool and often flops off as I'm stowing it. Winding is a little weird with the handle style as well but you get used to it pretty quick. For 50 or 75 ft of cord this is a great buy.

For the price, it's alright. The knob wasn't fully secured when it came I'm the package, you'll need a stubby philips to fix it. Along with the internal slider not pressed together with top quality. The tracks for the slider is not trimmed well so not a smooth function. For around the house, it suits its purpose so there isnt a pile of cords stored away. Would shop elsewhere for a more durable one for heavy use.

This reel is made of thick and sturdy plastic, much better quality than another reel I bought for almost double the price. But as other have mentioned, there are bits of untrimmed plastic left over from the injection molding process which needs to be trimmed off in order for it to turn smoothly. If you don't mind spending a few minutes trimming it off with an sharp knife, it's a bargain. If that's beyond your capabilities, avoid this product, as it will not rotate smoothly at all.

There's only one small hole for threading in the end of the extension cord. It would have been easy for them to put more. I wish they had at least put it on the side away from the handle, so the end of the cord doesnt keep bumping the hand that's turning it, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Well, 30 yrs ago we had two of these that we used to wind our waterski line. They were great! Made well and sturdy. 30 years s later, I need one to actually wind a long extension cord. Looks the same, but flimsy and rattles and scrapes as you wind. It works OK, just not like the old days.

Used this cord reel on 12 awg 100ft extension cord. It all fit in there. Others have mentioned some rough bits that catch on the moving handle area. A slight amount of wear and they stopped being an issue. So there are some slight finish qualms, but it's a fully functional reel at a good price.
