After so many years of doing videos for online, I finally got frustrated enough and bought an actual clapper to use at the start of each video to mark them.
Simple put, it does what I want. It's nice, the right size, seems to be pretty solid.
However, when I first got it, I took the marker and jokingly wrote out my fav tv show's info. I left it there for a few days and then went to use it in a real video. Well.. and this is the caveat.. I was able to erase it. I had to use some cleaner and a paper towel and it came clean. But very fantly can still see the writing before. No amount of scrubbing will take it off :(
But this is for something no one will ever see except me, so who cares... especially at the price point.
My other concern was the white marker.. I worry when it runs out and if I can find another one. :-/
But other than that, it's great.

I end up always needing a cleaning spray of some sort to clean the chalk marker off of the board. I really didn't need to find this out when on a shoot, ended up using spit because that's all I had. I can't hand this thing to anyone when I have spat all over it in order to update the markings. Now I have to carry a spray with me, another piece of equipment to track, thumbs down in that regard. It also is hard to "clack" one handed, which I have to do from time to time. For the money though, you get what you pay for, it's not a complete waste of money.
